I ran a second batch of brass through the wet tumbler. It's on the patio deck getting a tan right now. They came out relatively clean but not shiny.

Hint - squeeze a half a lemon or lime into your tumbler water and they will come out like this!

This weekend I have to reorganize my safe space again, to make room for major influx of orders from American Reloading (deals were too good to resist). I will try to sneak in a few more 30-06 reloads along the way.

Tell me about it. I have 2000 of their 9mm 115 gr TMJ pulls due to arrive on Monday. Would have been under a hundred bucks delivered if I had an Oregon mailing address.
High sales tax is the price we pay (up to 9% now) for not having to file a state income tax return.

I have placed 33 orders with them since July 5th. So much for buying a bunch more magazines. :(

I have a little bit more reorganizing to do in my safe space this weekend. I will also be tumbling more brass. I have lots of bullets and brass that have arrived and will be arriving in the next week or so.

My goal for reloading is to get at least 25 more 30-06 rounds loaded with reduced load recipes.

I am picking up some powder this weekend that I'm hoping will be a good red dot replacement. I don't have much Red Dot left.

I also want to try some loads with IMR4895 at the lower end of data.

I am likely going to stick with 5rnds of each flavor.

I am working with some 190gr bullets and I had to seat them very deep to make them chamber in my Savage 30-06. The COAL was brought down to 3.04", to make them fit.

Do you guys find this to be normal to have to seat heavy cast bullets this deep for Savage chambers?

Nope, but what is it sized to? Looks pretty lumpy coating wise. What mould was that cast from? I shoot 190 & 200gr out of both a .30-06 & 308 without issue as to length. Are you at the crimp groove?

What's the diameter at the nose, just above the crimp groove, and at the driving bands.

I put a fat layer of powder coat on them but ran them through a Lee push through sizer die. That sized them down to .3095

The crimp groove got filled in with the heavy powder coat but I had to seat them well past it. Not sure which mould they were made in.

The powder was a hammer tone finish which is a "lumpy" finish.

Powder coat shouldn't be thick.... you're affecting the nose diameter. That's what's causing the deep seating... since the oversize nose won't fit the throat properly. A typical sizing die is for the driving bands, unless you have a specific nose sizing die.
