Rcbs 30-180 sp isn't oversize.... should be .309 to .311 at the bands, and .300 or so at the nose.
That was the wrong bullet. I don't know what mould these bullets came from.

Way too fat... good for 303br, etc... not for .30-06. That nose won't fit normally in a .30-06 @ a normal crimp, like you found. Review the manuals for cast bullet sizing, and shooting....
I guess I'll see how they run. They chamber at 3.04" and I'm guessing they are right at the lands.

I have 303 and Mosin rifles to run them in too.

I guess my COAL is not completely out of line. This is a different style of 190gr bullet but they are calling for a COAL of 3.07"

My 3.04" COAL isn't out of that ballpark.
Each mould may have different OAL and recommended powder changes, depending on how much surface contact the bullet has, the profile, nose contact with the bore, etc.... lots of variables.

Sorted out 100pcs of 30-06 brass. Prepped and loaded up 25 rounds. I used Lee 1st edition data for 760 powder loads. The 1st edition has lower starting charge weights.

Loaded up 20 more rounds of 30-06 today. I used Bullseye powder at 4 different charge weights, 5 of each and cast bullets in all 20rnds. Should be soft shooters.

I loaded up 20 more 30-06 rounds with 150gr FMJs and four different mid level charge weights of IMR4895. 5 of each charge weight. I just found some more commercial brass in my stash, so I may load up a few more normal pressure loads tomorrow.

The rifle is going to hate me on Saturday.

I coated up some .310 180gr bullets. I am going to load up 15 of them with 16gr of 2400. After coating they averaged around .316. I sized them back down to .309

I loaded up 14 rounds with 16gr of 2400 powder and 180gr cast bullets. The first round was a tad long and when I test chambered it, the rifling held onto the bullet when I extracted the case. Yes it made a mess.

I also loaded 15 rounds with my most recent powder purchase, MP 550 (similar to 760 powder). I used three different charge weights, 5rnds at each charge weight, all with 150gr FMJs.

I loaded up 25 more rounds with similar to 760. I found lower charge weight data in Lyman 47th edition. Added 5 different charge weights, 5rnd each.

These are my 30-06 reloads (so far).
If I start shooting at 8am these should keep me shooting until noon.

And yes, I am the reason my wife had to take her sandwich to work, wrapped up in a paper towel. She can have the bags back in the kitchen, when I am done with them.

59gr of similar to Magpro, is not too slow for 150gr fmjs in 30-06. It did shoot low and left but grouped pretty decent for me. This is a 10 shot group in shot in under 10mins.
