Way too fat... good for 303br, etc... not for .30-06. That nose won't fit normally in a .30-06 @ a normal crimp, like you found. Review the manuals for cast bullet sizing, and shooting....That was the wrong bullet. I don't know what mould these bullets came from.

I guess I'll see how they run. They chamber at 3.04" and I'm guessing they are right at the lands.Way too fat... good for 303br, etc... not for .30-06. That nose won't fit normally in a .30-06 @ a normal crimp, like you found. Review the manuals for cast bullet sizing, and shooting....
I guess my COAL is not completely out of line. This is a different style of 190gr bullet but they are calling for a COAL of 3.07"That was the wrong bullet. I don't know what mould these bullets came from.

Each mould may have different OAL and recommended powder changes, depending on how much surface contact the bullet has, the profile, nose contact with the bore, etc.... lots of variables.I guess my COAL is not completely out of line. My 3.04" COAL isn't out of that ballpark.
Have you slugged your barrel?
Nope.Have you slugged your barrel?
I never have either, but with all of the effort you have gone thru with sizing, slugging might be helpful.Nope.
If I stick a cast bullet in the barrel, I will measure it after I pound it outI never have either, but with all of the effort you have gone thru with sizing, slugging might be helpful.
Or it blows up due to overpressure...If I stick a cast bullet in the barrel, I will measure it after I pound it out![]()
That would make it much more difficult to measure.Or it blows up due to overpressure...
