I shot a sub 8lb 458 lott for quite some time. Working on a sub 9lb 500 nitro currently

Then why do you want a measely 30-06? Buy a 338wm.... They are accurate too, and put big game down like nobody's business...:

338 is next one the list after 3006 or 308. Trying to build my caliber and ammo selection a bit. And 3006 is something i can start my son on when he's old enough
