rabbit
Rabbits are small mammals in the family Leporidae (along with the hare) of the order Lagomorpha (along with the pika). Oryctolagus cuniculus includes the European rabbit species and its descendants, the world's 305 breeds of domestic rabbit. Sylvilagus includes 13 wild rabbit species, among them the seven types of cottontail. The European rabbit, which has been introduced on every continent except Antarctica, is familiar throughout the world as a wild prey animal and as a domesticated form of livestock and pet. With its widespread effect on ecologies and cultures, the rabbit (or bunny) is, in many areas of the world, a part of daily life—as food, clothing, a companion, and a source of artistic inspiration.
Although once considered rodents, lagomorphs like rabbits have been discovered to have diverged separately and earlier than their rodent cousins and have a number of traits rodents lack, like two extra incisors.
Rabbit season opens September 1. I've tried the Vancouver Lake (Shillapoo) area without luck. It seems like great rabbit habitat with the numerous great blackberry bush islands.
Does anyone know of places in or around Clark County? It would be nice to meet up for some rabbit hunting too.
Thanks.
Ok.

Or not.
I laughed.
I have read about people getting sick and even dying from trying to live on a diet of lean meat like rabbit. This has been referred to as Protein Poisoning but is supposedly due to the lack of fat in the diet?
Then we have some Vegan starch type diet proponents that promote ultra low fat diets...
I'm a new hunter, but a good marksman and have been fishing since I was a kid. I'm feeling pretty well-equipped for rabbit hunting (scoped 22 and 12ga) and want to do it as a warm-up for deer. I went out for Deer last fall (just for 1 day, but that was better than none) and have been out 7 or 8...
