flask
The Flux Advanced Security Kernel (FLASK) is an operating system security architecture that provides flexible support for security policies. It is a joint venture between the National Security Agency, the University of Utah, and the Secure Computing Corporation project designed to provide a framework for a more secure operating system. Development and implementation started with the Mach microkernel, and has since shifted its focus to the Linux operating system. FLASK is a core framework in security-focused operating systems such as NSA's Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux), OpenSolaris FMAC and TrustedBSD. This means that SELinux can be thought of as an implementation of FLASK.
This is a metal flask with an embossed design, marked "Made in Italy" on the spout. My research on the design indicates that it's a Colt Navy coat of arms. I believe this is a reproduction piece, not an actual Civil War era item.

This Colt powder flask came with some reloading supplies I purchased recently. I know very little about it but it says made in Italy and doesn’t have the Colt markings that an original would have.
It does have some wear and I don’t know enough to say if it is in working condition but it appears...
I've done some research on this powder flask, and from reading Civil War forums, historical websites, pictures, advice from one of our own ect, the best I can tell it is as follows:
1826-1844 N.P. Ames "Peace" Powder Flask .44 Cal. Turns out this is most likely a reproduction unit.
$20 for it...
