Sodium bicarbonate (IUPAC name: sodium hydrogen carbonate), commonly known as baking soda, is a chemical compound with the formula NaHCO3. It is a salt composed of a sodium cation (Na+) and a bicarbonate anion (HCO3−). Sodium bicarbonate is a white solid that is crystalline, but often appears as a fine powder. It has a slightly salty, alkaline taste resembling that of washing soda (sodium carbonate). The natural mineral form is nahcolite. It is a component of the mineral natron and is found dissolved in many mineral springs.

    Cave Junction Under Evac Level Two ...

    As of 2:51 pm Wed, 9 Sept, 2020. Very little smoke down low but very thick overhead. Evac bag now in SUV. Checking on neighbors. All is OK right now except for everything going on right now. Will go to Jo Co Fairgrounds. That is all.

    Saw this, and by this I mean the actual fire, on the way in today. Looks like an evac notice for some folks. Article posted about an hour ago from the News-Review. Anyone in the area, stay safe. Canyonville fire spreads, sheriff issues evacuation notice for some residents
