Pros
  • Best service, friendly and helpful.
One of the coolest guys to work with ever. Prices so good I was getting almost embarrassed with how much stuff he threw in. Get one of his AR packages. Seriously, you will not do better building your own.

Gave them a 5 rating for my experience in gun transfers. They are prompt in sending a copy of their FFL for mailing the gun and call promptly when receiving it. $25.00 for the transfer fee is quite reasonalble. They will do a two gun transfer for $40.00, I believe.

Picked up a Ruger Charger through this shop's "Special Purchase" offer on Ruger firearms. Quick, informative and easy to deal with. I'll be sure to make another purchase and I recommend Jeremy's shop and service to others.

Online order went very well including communication about a shipping change. Price was the same for parts as it was at the bigger online stores. So no reason not to support your local shop

I don't know how to do the "drop a pin on the map and follow the vocal instructions" but my army land navigation from a paper map helped. That and the electronic compass inside my car, which I've previously denigrated as useless. Until you get out into the trees and can't see squat, there I can get disoriented quickly on winding, twisty roads and no view of the sun.

So I was out there today. I live in the north end of the greater Seattle ball of confusion, not really city but not exactly suburban either. Definitely no longer semi-rural. So the North Fork Gravel Pit is a long driving slog for me. However, I have an old friend who relocated to Everson some years ago. I decided to visit the gravel pit, then drive over to Everson and visit my friend.

First off, have a Washington Discover Pass before you go. It costs about $35 and is good for a year. But better than getting a $100 ticket from a ranger for not having it. Second, be sure to at least take a paper target with you and set it up, one of the rules of the road for shooting on DNR land. And for Gawd's sake, don't take dead TV's and other bubblegume along to use for targets, those days are way over. We live in different times now, we've got to get used to it. Shooting in the out-of-doors, off-range is pretty much gone anywhere at a reasonable distance from megaloptic living areas now. This is becoming a rare space, let's try to hang onto it as long as we can.

I'm retired, can select off-peak days and times to do this stuff. I arrived at the pit about 2:00PM today, there was only one other vehicle there with active shooters. I stopped and introduced myself, met a nice older couple. Then I drove down the pit a ways and set up my chronograph. I had some test cartridges to try out and record data on. I got all that done for four loads, nice to be able to do it off-range without having to rush and set up between cease fires. After that, I fired one of my M1A's 50 shots for pure pleasure.

Pictures:

I was parked in the southeast corner. This old '06 Mercury is the kind of car I choose to drive. I've got two like it. The other is the Ford Crown Victoria version. These are good cars. Between the two, I've got enough cars to last me for the rest of my life. No, I don't need or want a $60,000 dually Diesel pickup.

One of my shootin' irons for this day was an SAI M1A. Also got to try out new powder and cast bullets in my Ruger .38-40 Vaquero. Some other stuff, too. Look at those little puff clouds in the background, look like air bursts going off.

This was looking toward the northwest, where the other shooter's vehicle was parked.

The air conditioning in the old Mercury works just fine and it was badly needed today. It was 78 degrees in the shade, hotter in the sun out in the gravel pit. By the time I got over to Everson, the thermometer said 82.

I have been through several different holsters for my carry pistols and have never really been happy. Then I met Ryan, he is a true craftsman in a unique field, where custom goes beyond simply cranking out a mass produced product that sort of works, but is always a compromise! My 1911 has many custom enhancements that differ enough from standard to make fitment nearly impossable, but not for Ryan, he took his time and really listened to my requirements and he custom made my holster and mag carriers while I waited! It's been almost a year, and this holster has not only worked perfectly, but has yet to need any adjustment, and the comfort level is better then any thing I have worn! 10 stars for Ryan, best holster around! If you have a unique pistol, or just want a top quality custom made and fitted holster, you cannot beat Ory-Gun Holster Co, Period!

They made a holster for my CZ P-01 and I'm really pleased with it. It's not fancy, but an IWB doesn't have to be. It looks better than a lot of custom hybrids out there and fits very well. Fit is a little tricky for a P-01 because of the rail underneath the barrel but they got it right. I also like the polymer belt hooks. I have trouble with metal ones chewing up my furniture. On another order I needed some unusual custom work and they went way out of their way to get it right. Great customer service!

I started going there as a guest of @SKrueger and @Joe13. I got on the waiting list gladly and finally got my membership in February. This is THE BEST range I have ever been to. RSO's are top notch, you can shoot pistol as close as 7 yards and rifles out to 300. Well run, clean and friendly place. I'll be upgrading to a lifetime member shortly!

Jeannie bought two pistols from a member here and I bought a rifle at the Rickreall gun show. Jeremy handled the BGC's for us. $20 per and no hassles. Enjoyed browsing his tables and visiting with him while we waited. Good prices on his merchandise and good answers to our questions. Friendly and helpful. Looking forward to visiting his shop. Thank you!!

Bought one of OregonQuartermaster's pistols, did the transaction through LuckySG. Also picked up a Tac-14 and a 22/45 Lite on the same day. Bulk discount applied, smooth transaction, good conversation. What else do ya want? Jeremy is my go-to-guy.

Pros
  • Easy to work with
  • Takes card or cash in combination
  • Knowledgeable
Didn't buy a firearm, but I did pick up a very nice early M1905 bayonet for an excellent price. These guys know their stuff, and they have fair pricing on their guns and militaria. I talked with them for a good two hours, and they've got some unique items well worth a look, including a Vickers display gun ripe for conversion to a semi-auto build. Their museum display is also a treat, but remember they aren't the same business as the restaurant so leave a tip if that's all you check out!

Pros
  • Robert can be a fairly nice guy
  • Sometimes cheap. As in, inexpensive. Until you have to right his wrongs.
Cons
  • Terrible traning
  • Doesnt tell you if he cant do something
First experience i had robert order and install night sights on a pistol. When i brought the pistol to have them installed he happily did the work on the spot using punch and mallet which is fine by me. The part that irked me was that he was having some sort of trouble getting the rear on and pulled out a dremel- scratched the piss out of the slide. I wished he had mentioned that what he was doing was necesarry and that there was potential for the finish to be removed.

Years later my mother and i took his "enhanced" concealed weapons class.
This was an eight hour class with four hours of legal instruction. I learned absolutely nothing and was appalled to find that the vast majority of the instruction was robert babbling on incoherently about things not pertinent. Same with the "legal instruction" that somehow went so off -course that the sheriffs deputy who provided the instruction went on talking about vehicle head and taillight laws, proper license plate display and mudflaps. He even contradicted robert on numerous legal points.

Live fire was even worse with robert berating and harrassing the novice folks, in turn causing even more anxiety for them.

Do NOT take this class as a novice unless you are a glutton for punishment. I feel terrible for the many folks new to guns that had to experience this insanely terrible training.

Pros
  • Good AR stuff
Cons
  • Store hours and lack of ammo, reloading components and firearm selection
We'll, they aren't the best, as someone else stated. They cater to the black rifle club and do a good job at that. Their staff is pretty knowledgeable. However, they don't have a wide selection of firearms. Half the time I stop there, they are closed. I've ended up going to northwest armory and finding what I needed on those days. I did have one bad experience when I had them order a lower for me. They forgot to order it. I called to ask them if it was in the shop yet and they said they had record of the purchase order, but totally spaced actually ordering it. At least they were honest and accepted responsibility on that one.

Pros
  • Prices, knowledge, quality
Cons
  • Ammo selection, closes too early
I don't believe I have ever had a bad experience at Curt's. If you are looking for anything black guns related they usually have it. The staff seems quite knowledgeable and more than happy to help with any questions. They seem to be committed to carrying only quality parts and accessories (no air soft junk). Selection and prices are not internet low but once you factor in shipping and transfer fees they are very competitive.
There are only two reasons I couldn't give them a 5 star,
1: I'm a working man and getting there before 5pm is not easy for me, I own a retail establishment myself and staying open thill 6pm is best for my customers who have to work. If your customers are rushing to get to you they'll find the other store that's open later.
2: The ammo inventory is not the best, could definitely do with more stock and selection.
These are by no means deal breakers, I will continue to shop at Curt's first when looking for anyhting gun related.

I remember going there as a youth from time to time. I recently stopped by while on a trip out to the coast. The two folks I interacted with were friendly and helpful. They had a relatively small selection of long guns and an even smaller collection of handguns. One funny thing I noticed is they had some oddball ammo on the shelf (e.g., .307 Winchester, .32 Colt, etc.). Beyond firearms, they sell fishing equipment, clothing, etc.
