Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
Yep, still $25 for the first firearm and $15 for each additional, no limit on the same transfer. With 4000+ BGC's to go through it does take a little time.
It's not advised as there is a lot of litter from skeet shooting. It also poses a safety hazard as there may be shooters elsewhere that a non-linear muzzle direction could endanger. Best keep the skeet to Hillsboro Trap & Skeet Club - Home Page and the platforms at Sauvie Island...
I have not been up to crooked finger in 3 years last time I went up there was Nov 2017 and Weyerhaueser had a gate past Camp Dakota, I use to go up to M.P. 5 and there was a blue gate up there but there were some Berms up there that were good to shoot targets off. has anybody been up there recently? have they opened the gates?
I went up there couple months ago and there were to sheriffs there and told me we can shoot there no more cause people were dumping garbage and not picking up after themself so he said people could be traspasssed
* Hi! I need to know if there's
fee to shoot,
* do you have different days for different calibers.
* and how I get a code to get in the gate.
* is there a Day for New members?
thank you so much I'm excited!
I am a member of the YCSA. It is a very small club of 150 members. I am not an officer of the club but I am working with them on getting a "social media" officer or equivalent.
If you are wanting to get on the list for consideration, typically it takes about 2 years on average to become a member. Have to wait for someone to drop off and then wait your turn on the list.
On Google it says it's closed and on Oregon.gov it says it's closed as of 3/11/2020 for timber work going on in the area does anyone know if it's still closed or has the closure been lifted?
I live 2 blocks away from ISA and understand membership is only with a sponsor. I would like to join. Is there someone who would consider sponsoring me?
I am happy to meet for a social distance meeting for the sponsor to get to know me.
Is anyone planning to go out to there anytime soon, say this month (July 2020)? I live near Hillsboro and have been wanting to check it out and try out my new electronic headset and my old FN-FAL and Sig P229 pistol there.

We do not have an ETA. The EZ line has been selling like crazy now. Typically when they come into stock they are gone within just a few hours. We are actively working to get more in stock and will let you know
Anybody think it would be a bad idea to make like a sign up roster for the lanes? Max two hours per session so people could use the sale equally? Just a thought so people don't waste trips or gas.
It's just not practical, and there are plenty of other places to shoot. Use good judgement and a trip to the range becomes an adventure.

Being that these lanes are not designated as anything. They fall under the same rules and guidelines set by Oregon Department of Forestry for state forest lands. No reservations can be made or set up. They are as is, first come first serve basis.
If you are a business and or trainer looking to utilize these lanes for those purposes, please contact ODF Forest Grove office at 503-357-2191. Arrangements can be made only by ODF to gain permits to set up a class and or activities like such on these lanes. Same goes for any sort of organization that wishes to perform any large group activities among these recreational shooting lanes, such as clean ups.
Thanks for the update I'm going to try and go during the week so it's not as busy.

This is a public recreational shooting area. It is unmanned and open to the public 365 days a year from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset. If the area is to be closed for cleaning or maintenance it will be posted here as well as Oregon Department of Forestry's webpage otherwise it is open year round. We highly encourage using proper manufactured targets and that you pack in and pack out everything you bring.
You turn off the pavement onto a dirt road and drive right up to the first pit(less than a quarter mile). The second pit has a steep, rocky approach but is still passable
Still pretty new to shooting, so does anyone know what to do with empty casings? Because every time my son and I go shooting there we always try to clean after ourselves.
I'd recommend holding onto them, until you have "a bunch". Then sell them/trade them on here in our reloading section (brass center fire only).
Or, if you all shoot "a bunch" now, or perhaps going forwards, you might consider getting into reloading your own.
If that may be an option for you all in the future, then just save them. They won't go bad & don't take up too much space (depending, obviously). Sort using gallon ziplocks in a 5 gallon bucket, to start.
I saved my brass for 3 years before I started reloading. Man was I happy with past me!

It is part of ORS Statute 530.050 of the rules on state forest lands that, "Remove from State Forest land all she'll casings, targets, and other debris resulting from the target shooting activity."
In other words, please pack in and pack out.
You can discard empty shell casings in the garbage or recycling bin if your disposal company allows. Selling them here or giving them away to a reloader is another great option. Keeping them doesn't hurt either if you believe you might be interested in reloading down the road.
Hi Duane - we do usually have a good supply of various LPKs and stock kits for AR15 and AR10 platforms on hand, however with the surge in buying due to COVID and now the riots we are a little low on inventory. If you wanted to come by and look at what we have we are still open for our regular hours, or if there was a specific brand/setup you are looking for just let me know, thanks!
