Yom Kippur synagogue attack here in Manchester UK

Today is Yom Kippur, and in a Manchester synagogue two are dead [one a security guard] and three others critically injured by by a knife-wielding bomber who was shot dead by Greater Manchester police firearms team who arrived in under seven minutes from the call.

As he lay there outside the building - he twitched, and got shot again. Bomb squad is on the clear-up as I write this.

It would seem that the first lesson in 'shooting a bomber' - two through the mouth* - was ignored by the SWAT team.

Hence the perp apparently sitting up and getting shot again.

This time with permanent results.

This part of Manchester has a large Jewish population, including many of the orthodox persuasion, and today was, of course, Yom Kippur, the most holy day of the Jewish year. The synagogue would have been packed out and if the bomb had gone off the results could have been utterly appalling.

No mention of the ethnicity of the still-dead perp, but no doubt it will come out. Chances are he was not a methodist....

Thoughts, prayers and blessings to those families impacted by this attack. It does bring into the conversation that it's not the tool (a knife), but the intent of the individual.

And this is the reason why, since '91 I've attended houses of worship well strapped. And in fact have had the congregations leaders approval. Many of those years spent as a deacon, elder or usher, giving me the ability to remain on the periphery during service, typically just inside the doors, or the point of no return…

It really is, always going after the unarmed and unassuming.
Schools, places of worship, shopping centers.

I'm thinking it's a male aged 22-28 that has been active in Palestinian protests. Most likely some form of immigrant and is seeking political asylum. But I could be 100% wrong I haven't even read any articles on it. Only this thread. So not based on anything except past occurrences in England and Germany especially.

If it was in usa it would most likely be a different profile. Again based on nothing but what has happened in the past.

Around 75% of so-called terrorist crimes here in UK were committed by second or third generation incomers, ALL moslem. In the 2007 London bombings, all had been born here and one of them was a teaching assistant in the pre-school teaching establishment.
