Winchester Model 94

Good evening fellow gun owners. I just recently bought an old Winchester Model 94 in a 30-30 caliber. The serial number dates back to 1928-1929 (1061###) according to a website that I used. My concern is that the barrel says it's a 30-30 caliber and not a 30WCF. I read somewhere that Winchester started stamping there barrels with 30-30 after WWII. Is it possible that the barrel is not the original barrel on the gun because of that? Any feedback would be helpful.

The front / upper barrel band and front sight appear to be later than 1928 -29.
A better close up picture of that area would be helpful.

mine dates to 1944 130### and is stamped 30 WCF. So I would say yes it has a newer barrel in it

The year the barrel was manufactured will be stamped on the bottom of the barrel just forward of when it screws into the receiver. (it's easy to take apart).

from what I see it would have had an octagon barrel till 1937.
