It's a hard choice between the 1892 and 1894, but the 94 has more practical application for my "needs". People of my kind look funny in cowboy clothes, so I don't see myself needing cartridge compatibility between a rifle and revolver. Besides, if I'm gonna carry a rifle, it might as well act like rifle.

Winchester lever action rifles...
I've owned a few :
1873
1892
1894
1895

At the moment all I have is a 1959 dated 1894 in .30WCF.
It works well and looks good.

As for my favorite...Hmmm...for just fun shooting , the Model 1873 , for practical use the 1894.

Sorry Andy,
I won't own a lever action rifle. I was Red Rider, Daisy trained and have yet to break myself of the habit of taking one out of my shoulder to cock it after firing a shot.

If I could find an adult sized 1892, it might be the favorite, however everything on the ones I've handled feel like they were made for people smaller than myself. The 1894 is the perfect size and weight to pack around all day with great capacity with tons of flavors to choose from. It's a handsome rifle for sure

Shanghai Nights?

Model 1895 is a favorite of some people: Arizona Rangers for example.

I never cared much for the felt recoil though.

1895 for me, the culmination of all things John Browning and lever actions combined with modern bottle neck cartridge performance at it's finest! I love how they look and feel, how they run and shoot, about as perfect as it gets! Plus, it's mind boggling to see how they are put together and how they run, and remember, this was before modern machining and everything was hand fit!

1886 is a monster and my favorite by far!! Followed by the Duke's favorite, the 1892.

I like the 1894s but I'm still looking for that nice 92 though :D
