At least they took care of you. When I had a similar incident with my OZ9 I mailed the slide back to Zev and had a replacement in about a week.Because.
a gunsmith/ffl was telling me it was the "cheap optic plates" that come with Canik and that I should buy a new (expensive one of course) one. Glad I got the screws because they have worked fabulously.+1 for Freedom Gorilla….
I no longer use plastic optic plates. C&H is now my preferred brand. Since my unfortunate incident where the optic flew off, I have shot thousands of rounds through many of my pistols without incident. Quality screws & a good torque wrench.a gunsmith/ffl was telling me it was the "cheap optic plates" that come with Canik and that I should buy a new (expensive one of course) one. I've never had plastic optic plates. Don't think I would trust them. Glad you found a solution.I no longer use plastic optic plates. C&H is now my preferred brand. Also, I have switched to Purple Loctite instead of blue.
When I bought any of my six S&W, they came with about eight different optic mounting plates and all but one was plastic.I've never had plastic optic plates. Don't think I would trust them. Glad you found a solution.
