I was just at the Sportsmans show in Redmond and Leupold has some good deals on Scopes. I just purchased there the Mark 5HD 5-25x56 M5C3 FFP PR2-MIL,

Now I need to go and find a rifle at the shop to buy to put it on, it never ends, HA!

Wow, love that scope and will not ask what you paid for it - I can't afford it :( What happened to the gold ring?

With the special it ends up being under 2K. Looking forward to using it.
For almost ever, Leupold scopes were known by the gold band around the objective lens housing, like in the pic below. On the scope you show, the ring is black with white or silver letters.

Good Question, I think they have changed them, not sure on the newer scopes. I will look again when I get it back. I left it at the show just incase they need another to sell, since I am no hurry and need to go next week to buy a rifle for it. My shop treats me very well and I was in no need to walk out of the show with it. But definitely a question for me to ask next week. Thanks

I thought it looked odd as well. However, a little Google Fu tells me:

The Leupold Mark 5HD 5-25x56 does not have the traditional gold ring because it is part of their tactical/hunting hybrid "Mark" series, which utilizes a matte black finish on the objective ring to reduce glare and maximize stealth in field conditions, whereas the gold ring is signature to their gold-ringed hunting optics.

I stopped at a shop on the way home the other day and fondled a couple I have wanted for a while.
I want them both, but one would scratch that itch.

And or a Stribog SP9

Now I have to save the fundage up...

Have both platforms. Like them.

The Stribog is less expensive for mags & aftermarket. Especially if you go with the "G" version which uses Glock mags. - Have both plus a lower to run Scorpion mags. The "G" version is the one we more frequently run. Just out of convenience. Aesthetically I like the looks of the non swept back magazine of the regular version. However, practically they all run (and suppress) well. Which is what really matters.

Note: they do require the short stoke buffe ($31+ship) to run well.

Excellent to know information.
Thank you much!
