I am not a very impulsive person...but...@levi333 's firearm post, in another thread, had me looking for change in my sofa... (and searching the inter-webs)

I'm not much of an impulse buyer - although I'm a sucker for shotguns that are in good condition and are a great price. I passed on so many because I have more then I need but still get that "ooo that's a great deal bug" and have to restrain myself.

Assuming I had the disposable cash (which I do not have currently) I do have guns on my list of someday…

A decent 30-30 lever

A Desert Eagle with the stuff to shoot the 3 different calibers (I'm aware they are super impractical but I have big hands and love the way they feel)

A nice pocket or easily concealed revolver in .357mag

A G19 gen 3 (I bought mags pre illegal because I know I will buy one at some point)

A NAA Pug

A lever in .357mag

A marine 870

A bolt 5.56

A M9 in good condition

So many more but I could go on for a long time if I had the money to do so lol.

Wow, that is a great list. You could be an armorer for a movie with that. Great shooters as well
Do not feel the need to rationalize the Desert Eagle. You will grin for life shooting one.

The Hardballers are $500 guns, in my opinion.
Whatever they get/whatever someone pays.....
And a cc piece to go with 'em. Uses the full size mag, all use 1911 mags.

Only one I can think of at the moment would be a Galil pistol in .308 either 11.8" or 8.3" barrel models. I'm not sure 10-15% below market woudl be enough to make me jump at it though. Especially when a ptr .308 pistol (basically an mp5 in .308) is currently half the price on a crazy sale.

...Say you walked into a gun shop and there it was, with the little handwritten tag dangling off it. You hadn't planned on spending the money, but you're not gonna leave the shop without it!

What did you buy?

Assume it's a decent deal. Maybe 10-15% below market.
Both were used but you couldn't tell it.

First time was a Sig Sauer p320 SAO

Second time was a Beretta 92 XI by Beretta Custom Works (this one I got halfway home and turned around to go back and buy it!)

I did a kind of impulse buy today. Two in my favorite FFL's pawnshop. I'd looked at both of them before. I like to wait a few days to see if my burning desire wears off. One is a Ruger 77CR MK II in .243 Win. Which is a caliber that I've been looking for. This is the compact rifle for kids. But I'll figure out a way to use it. This one only came into the store recently on consignment. The other is a Winchester Model 70 XTR in .30-06, made in 1991 after Browning took over USRA so it's nice enough, has the push feed action. I got a bit of a price reduction on both.

I already have a bolt action .30-06, but I wanted another just for shooting cast bullets and not having to adjust the zero on the scope.

Both have functional scopes but nothing special or valuable. My dealer said, "You got rings with them."

The impulse issue was that I bought them both, which I hadn't planned to do.
