Oh, granted. Outdoors, lighting up a back yard, functioning in a semi-lit urban environment, the more light you can bring to bear, the better. Especially the further away from the target you are.

Was watching a mag Pul training video where the guys made the same point, that with too much lumens even a white wall can send enough back atcha to mess up your vision.. I can only imagine shining it directly into a mirror backed hutch, large mirror or something

Just got in a pair of Trustfire 12T6 blasters. Impressive looking lights. Unfortunately the fine print is no batteries or charger so I had to order 2 sets of batteries each plus a home and a auto charger. I'll do a review for youse folks after that arrives

Now I have the itch to try one of these once I save up a few clams

I like my SureFire G2X Pro Dual Output LED. $70 at Amazon. It runs forever (almost) on low power and only some 45 minutes on high. It does use two C123 battery and not AAs but I've only changed them once in three years. They didn't need it but I changed them just to know they were new.

I too bought the Trustfire twins. I am ahead of you in that I did read the fine print and had my batteries here and waiting.
The lights are good. Reflectors clear and quality good. The tail switch feels a little funny. Hard to describe. Just not as clean running as I am used to I guess. Could just be the firm green silicone cover? Not bad , just a little less refined?
Light is great. Not a distance light, more of a flood with a soft hot spot. Color is very good. The 13000 lumens is an obvious exaggeration. It is very respectable though. Comparing to my 55w HID it is very close if not a little better. It does not match it for distance, but the usable area light is better.
I have another 35w HID lantern style light with a large reflector that blows these both away for distance and flood, but its size and battery life make it not quite as nice.
Overall , thus far I am impressed. Rose colored glasses are still on.
I am currently running the 18650 batteries. The sleeves do slide back and forth making some noise. Not horrible. I did go ahead and order a set of 26650 batteries to try. Might be nice. Some report better light and they should be longer run time.

I too lusted for the tiny monster, but I think these may have satisfied that hunger.

I don't carry on-belt much, but when I do it's a Surefire 6PX Pro in a Blackhawk ATAC holster. The pocket ones are a Streamlight Stylus Pro AAA or a Streamlight Pro-Tac 2AA.

I bought 40 of these when they were on sale for 2-4 bucks last year. Absolutely love them. They take one double a. Or they can take a special lithium rechargeable. Bright as hell with only one aa. I've beaten the crap out of one to test it too. I'll see if I can find my review from another thread.

Edit. Found thread.

My TLR 1 HL is amazing. 600 lumens with a strobe effect. Accidentally got a glimpse of it and had spots in my vision for quite a while got kind of worried. Wouldn't want to be on the other side of this thing. I would wait, save UP, and buy a light that will work right when you need it to.

O.K. I'll bite ,, what makes a flashlight tactical?

Just like anything else. It has to be black. Maybe a rail. Have a secondary use, like a flashlight that also can be used as a weapon. Wait a second...
