I agree with getting Arborvitae trees planted on your side. Only real concern though, how much of the yard would these trees take up.
Build a very deep trench (maybe 3' or more if you can by 6-8" wide) 2 feet from the fence and fill it with concrete.

Then plant a bunch of bamboo between the concrete and the fence.

It grows crazy fast (look for people selling it in late winter or early spring and get the fatest stalk you can find.

It grows insanely fast vertically over a few weeks (I spitballing it, I have not dealt with it in awhile) and then all summer it will fill out with leaves.

It is like berry bushes and spreads like crazy so that is what the concrete is for and anything that spreads over to the other side of the fence isn't your issue…. Unless you want to be nice and make 2 trenches.

It's probably but not guaranteed to be cheaper than arborvitae but will definitely grow and fill out faster. Plus if makes for a nice backdrop imo.

I am not suggesting calling LE unless someone is in danger but if you see someone hitting their significant other then you can call anonymously and they will absolutely show up for a DV call and someone is goi bf to jail if they can verify something happened.

But karma and all so I let it go unless I actually see someone kicking the living daylights out of someone else.

Here and there I hear screaming in my neighborhood (in my young years it was me but I grew up) and I just ignore it - people argue, some of us are just louder and I've never done it in the middle of the night.

Move.
Then hope you don't have neighbor issues in your next house also or you'll have to move again.
Seriously, this is my dilemma also. I don't have an answer, other than moving to where you have no neighbors at all. Then you have to worry about tweekers breaking in while you're away.
This is how our society has been reduced.

Nah, I recommend playing on loop music by Florence Foster Jenkins. Not the movie that was made but the actual person.

Most people can not last more than a few seconds....
When I was 23 I ran speaker wire into and over to my side garage door and brought my TV speakers (huge things) and places them there which happened to be pointed at the rental neighbors bedroom.

All because of their 2 beagles they would let out at 6am and then leave them to howl until mid morning or later.

6am they started howling and I played an NWA song on an absolutely impolite level for the whole song.

They started calling their dogs in as soon as they started making noise of any kind after that pretty much immediately.

I was in a rental and so were they and I didn't want to bother trying to reason with them but I apparently fixed the issue after dealing with it for months so I guess it was worth it. I was 23, watcha going to do?

Oh, and my neighbor across the street was LE and he never said a word about it lol.

I have privacy tint on all my windows... Was a good investment for privacy.
That's probably the best advice so far. I can really out a camera outside my bedroom window as I would be filming in their bedroom windows. That could get weird.

And for those of you that may suggest booby traps on my side of the fence, well I don't want my dog to get hurt.

Just remember that privacy tint is great during the day time when there is more light outside then inside.

At night if the light is limited and you have your inside lights on you can see inside the house just fine.

Unless you go with limo tint like 5% at which point you may as well just keep your blinds closed.

That's a bummer about the multi family unit. My wife's family had to contend with the same problem.

I think you need to build a tolerance for the white noise of the neghbors.

I live by a freeway and have been for 12 years. Like the Doors song, it's "like the waves down at the beach."

Triple-pane windows are supposed to provide good noise reduction. Since they are energy-saving, they would increase the value of your house, and reduce heating/cooling expense. You may be eligible for a subsidy for having them installed.

Another vote for moving.
Bright side ( maybe) , there's probably a developer waiting to do the same thing to your property as that mess behind you. So you don't have to worry about buyers.

Tell the neighbors that because of their antics you're installing a new surveillance system...

What would you guys do?
I would move.

In effect, that is what I did over a decade ago.

I know not everybody can do that, but you asked.

After 50 years of mostly living in the city and dealing with neighbors, both good and bad, and having bad neighbors from 2000-2010, I moved. Now I have really good neighbors who are not only peaceful, but helpful and there is plenty of space between us.
