Blame the voters from a hundred or so years ago who allowed the politicians to do this.If only it worked that way…. Wouldn't that be nice.

Criminals are expected to keep being criminals, the courts have decreed as so; so none of the gun control laws actually do apply to criminals except for the whole "felon in possession" thing which is ..a legal penalty for having guns but not necessarily considered an infringementI'll be the first to say I don't think illegal immigrants have any constitutional rights. But that's just me.
(illegal immigrants are already by statute, criminals)Funny how that works. If only punishment was brutal enough to keep them from continuing to commit crimes….Criminals are expected to keep being criminals, the courts have decreed as so; so none of the gun control laws actually do apply to criminals except for the whole "felon in possession" thing which is ..a legal penalty for having guns but not necessarily considered an infringement![]()

The vast majority of gun laws impact only the law-abiding citizens, not the convicted criminals it seems.
It's not just them. It's now too. It's been restricted to some degree since the beginning.Blame the voters from a hundred or so years ago who allowed the politicians to do this.![]()
Who gets to define what "necessary" is? Cause that can be very subjective depending on who you talk to or who writes the laws.Whatever arms that are necessary for the security of a free state.
But they were the ones to first allow the significant restrictions of arms, thus setting the precedent that followed to todayIt's not just them. It's now too. It's been restricted to some degree since the beginning.
It's easy to lay blame at the feet of another. But they were the ones to first allow the significant restrictions of arms, thus setting the precedent that followed to today
I know I didn't vote for any of this. It's easy to lay blame at the feet of another.
Neither did I. But it's life.I know I didn't vote for any of this.
Consequences of substance and consistently administered would make a world of difference.Funny how that works. If only punishment was brutal enough to keep them from continuing to commit crimes….
One can dream.
Society.Who gets to define what "necessary" is?
So then we need to blame the country as a whole for where we are at and the direction we are moving in. And if it's society that gets to decide what rights we get and what is "necessary" we as a whole have to own it.Society.
This subject comes up occasionally and there isnt an "absolute " answer. We only have rights if they are both written down and enforced by society. Then the issue is anything written down is open to interpretation....
The idea of how things should be is purley philosophical. Its whatever society allows, or tolerates... like CHLs, GFZs, AW bans etc.
This. If they are too dangerous to own guns (and plenty of them are) then they should not be allowed out of their box.Convicted felons who have served their sentence should have the same rights as everyone else. Including the right to keep & bear arms.
Or they shouldn't be out in society.
All firearms laws (excluding amendment #2) are restrictions of some form or another. All of which being unconstitutional…
Pretty much. Seems like humanity is on a continual loop of failing to learn the lessons of history. So then we need to blame the country as a whole for where we are at and the direction we are moving in. We are a dying breed.
Cause we're not the brightest species…Pretty much. Seems like humanity is on a continual loop of failing to learn the lessons of history.
It's hard to learn from history when it's not taught anymore.Pretty much. Seems like humanity is on a continual loop of failing to learn the lessons of history.
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Rather than try to strengthen the weak we tend to cater to them.Cause we're not the brightest species…
Worse, its being rewritten. It's hard to learn from history when it's not taught anymore.
This is true, but we cannot rely on schools to perform such education as they've been turned into NEA indoctrination centers. Mom and Dad, you have to take this on yourself and be sure you raise children that are heads and shoulders above the crowd. It's hard to learn from history when it's not taught anymore.
