A piece about the size of a quarter! how big of a Bomb can that make? Not very much material.

Yar, it's the psychological aspect of "dirty bomb".

Have worked with cesium sourced irradiators in the past.

Currently doing so requires extensive background clearance & marked increased security measures. For working with a source shielded/embedded of about similar quantity (and not fisible material to begin with).

One of the concerns post 911 was that "crazies" could detonate a "device" near the source, thus creating a "dirty bomb".

When we were discussing how to go about increasing security measures at the time, and why? I kept thinking "who thinks like that", but I now recognize that you continually have to think out of the box for safety...because crazy will too.
