Check the list of exempt transfers, e.g. certain family members. If both are residents of Washington and no NFA items are implicated then those state exemptions can save you a hassle. Washington's RCW 9.41 has the firearm possession/transfer laws.

During my last visit to my favorite gun shop...

A young fella came in wanting to look at some Henry Lever Action Rifles in .45-70.
After looking a few over...he found one he liked and bought it.

The young man did not know that he needed to pass a safety course ...
Thanks to the free online course offered by Sporting Systems ...took the course then and there...and passed.
He paid for his Henry Rifle.....
And while the shop's paperwork was being completed...his BGC came back proceed.
However....
He was also unaware that he needed to wait "10 days".....as well as paying an additional $18 state fee for this privilege.

The fella was surprised at all of this...but took it in stride...
And will soon be able to possess a rifle , that he should have been able to leave with , then and there , in first damn place.

No doubt there are many reasons as to why he was unaware of all the above.
I am glad that he went through with the sale....
I have seen it play out , where the sale did not happen 'cause of the above.

Washington's firearm laws , ban , restrictions , requirements...
Have hampered firearm sales...Sales to people who ain't the problem here.
In addition to this...they have put , to use a trendy term , an in-equable hardship upon certain business establishments....
As in FFL dealers and Gun Shops..

Firearm owners and Firearm shops are being treated as second class citizens....and discriminated against.
Yet...there is hardly any out cry against this....
And worse still , the many firearm owners who are "okay" at worst...
Or ignorant at best , with this happening .

Now I do understand that Washington's firearm laws are vague in places , convoluted in many ways , ponderous...
And flat out infringements.
As well as being difficult to keep up on.
However...
Please....speak out....sign petitions when they come around....pay attention...and vote these SOB"S out.

Oregon wants to require that we provide safe gun handling in front of a certified instructor.
While safe firearm handling is important.....
I do not want to have to "prove" that I am safe with firearms.

My standards may not match...or may even exceed some certified instructor's standards.

I keep my safety practices simple...and they work with every firearm....
Keep your finger off the trigger , until you are ready to shoot....
And be constantly aware of where you point the muzzle of your firearm.

Simple and easy.
Yet...I would bet that I would fail many safety standards or tests , by using my method.
