Vortex Strikefire Red Dot

I got a vortex strikefire red/green dot holosight for my AR. The rifle has the non removable carry handle so I got a tapco rail/adapter for the handle and the low mount ring for the sight as recommended by the manufacturer, but I can not get the sight adjusted to put the dot anywhere near point of aim with the irons. Way too high and to the right. I think it may be the rail adapter but not sure. Any body have any ideas?

If your saying that you cannot see the iron/co-witness, then thats right. It's too high on the mount. You should still be able to zero it to POI though.
If you want to use it co-witness, you will have to change out the upper receiver with a flat top, and get new irons.
Or get one of these.
