I have a 3-18x44 Strike Eagle acquired as part of a trade. I have noticed that the Strike Eagle line doesn't appear to be very popular. Is this because they are made in China or something else?

Vortex has some hit and miss reviews. Ive owned 2 and they were fine, a buddy owned one and leaned the rifle up on a tree and it fell over and lost zero, permanently.

Vortex shows the 3-18 Strike Eagle as "new" so you probably got a good deal in trade by someone who has a bias or preference for a different brand. Theres a lot of good features in that model, id give it a chance.

reat review! I picked one up a few weeks ago and am impressed for the price point. They are really close to the PST Gen 2 scopes (I've got several) and not in the league of Razor Gen 2 scope, but for the money, the Strike Eagle is a great value.
