Yesterday the USSC granted certiorari to a TX case regarding the qualified immunity of officials - Gonzalez v Trevino.

https://www.kake.com/story/49831796...nge-to-qualified-immunity-for-police-officers

This is a major step forward in fighting this abuse and possibly wrt gun rights (down the road). Brief outline:

- A San Antonio suburban town had a grassroots movement start to recall a good-ole' boy mayor for not doing his job.
- The mayor conspired with a hand-picked prosecutor and police to create a charge to arrest the - literally - 70+ year old sweet grandmother behind it (Gonzalez), and use her arrest to discredit her.
- She sued and won against them for violating her civil rights.
- 5th Circuit vacated that, saying they were immune from prosection.

USSC is now taking it up to revisit that statist ruling. The 5th USCC really got this wrong it seems and this is good news.
