I ordered a shotgun from Atlantic Firearms. Order was processed just fine, they sent out tracking info, and I added it to my alerts in the UPS app. The tracking showed it arrived at their Middletown PA location, but after that no status updates occurred for several days. The app "help" feature (which is an ironic thing to name a feature that does nothing for you) just spat out a canned statement that not all stops get shown in the tracking, and that it will update when it gets to the next major hub, or something along those lines. Seems like a bogus statement in the era of end-to-end digital tracking, but whatever.

After a week of no updates its status went from "in progress" to "delayed" with no further details. Finally (2 weeks in now) I contacted Atlantic Firearms because UPS prefers the sender initiate an investigation request. They were quick to initiate the investigation with UPS, and now I'm in a holding pattern until until the investigation concludes (~4 days or so). Fortunately if it is determined to be lost or stolen, Atlantic will immediately send a replacement, so hopefully won't have to wait too much longer to get it in.

It used to be you had to work in the gun industry to get free guns.

Now you just have to work in a UPS/FedEx hub to get free guns.

Hopefully it gets resolved soon. I had a rifle shipped back to me from Texas a few years ago. It looked like UPS drug it from behind the truck the whole way. The box was mangled. Luckily the gun survived without a scratch.

Had a big bullet order disappear a few years ago. Company sent out a new order right away. Three months later a mangled ball of a box showed up on my doorstep with nothing legible on the outside, it had a mile of package tape around it and looked like a ball of trash. I went to pick it up and it weighed fifty pounds. All the bullets were in the box. I ended up paying the company for that box as well. I called them to tell them it finally arrived and asked what they wanted to do with it. They sold it to me for normal price minus shipping. I could have just kept quiet and kept it but I don't work that way.

I had a similar situation a couple years ago. Don't recall if it was fedex or UPS. Ordered a rifle from a seller in SC. He shipped it out, tracking showed movement to a larger metro area not too far from where he was, then no update for a week or week and a half with some vague message. I tracked down a number for the hub where it was last processed. Nice lady there looked into it, said it was put on a rail car to move across country to Spokane, then would be transported by truck. Some bad weather delayed the train's progress she said. I was getting pretty nervous, but it ultimately showed up. Just took nearly two weeks.

Hope yours shows up safely.

I had a shotgun delivered to my FFL by UPS. They didn't have him sign for it and just left it on his front porch (home FFL). Luckily he noticed it and took custody of it before it was stolen by a porch pirate. UPS isn't the best in my opinion.

UPS delivered my suppressor coming home from upgrade service to my neighbor. He leftit on my porch
I had a big order from Midway not show up after I got an email saying it was delivered. I sent an email to my nearby neighbors asking if anyone had seen it. I didn't mention the contents. A few hours later, 3 opened boxes showed up in front of my door. Along with some regular gun stuff, I had a bunch of tactical shet in there like a sling and optics. I was upgrading a couple of guns. Never heard a word from anyone. 🤷‍♂️

Had a small ammo order delivered several doors down the street. Was in the process of filing a claim when mysteriously it showed up at my door, opened…. UPS and FedEx aren't always on top of their deliveries. Always have to track your own package, can't blindly trust they'll be delivered to your door.

Complying sure does suck.
If you are shipping/receiving anything, firearm or not, the shipping can suck.

Fortunately I have had very few problems, mostly minor. Recently I ordered some bedliner paint in quart cans and Amazon shipped it in a box with zero padding - the cans rolled around inside the boxed and arrived all dented with one leaking. The only remedy Amazon offered was to return the item (they would pay the shipping) - which was both stupid and required me driving into town. I tried to leave a review, but of course Amazon won't post shipping reviews and really doesn't care - even when I complained.

"Low quality container couldn't survive being packed in a thin cardboard box for transport."

Had ups drop a shotgun and shatter the stock. It was insured. It was 100% UPS fault. They refused to pay. The big gun outfit it was being sent to said UPS denies people's claims 100% of the time. They said they have never seen a claim go through with UPS. UPS insurance is a total scam so they can charge more. They have no intention of honoring the "insurance".

A mentally disabled person ordered some hopes and dreams once that UPS shattered. He had no UPS and just Down's after that.

Update: shotgun finally arrived at the gun shop yesterday. And I completely forgot WA state law now mandates a 14 day wait for ALL firearms, so it gets to sit in jail until the 21st. Neat design though, feels sturdy enough. The pump has a return spring, which is probably the first thing that's gonna go.

Took 37 days USPS Priority Mail from Houston, TX -> Anchorage for a private sale )forum) 50 Beowulf upper. Yea, great deal but ate all my fingernails waiting for it to arrive .

Just curious, did you receive the original order or a replacement?
