I heard about it (forget where) a couple years ago and pdf'd and read it.. didn't know that that was a no-no.
I thought "ok, this is gonna suck and I'll read maybe five pages". Well for me, it was captivating and well woven. Lots a guns too! I'm sure on some level it might approach grim but it's not about baking cookies.. and after all, it's a fictional novel.
