Picked up a new Taurus TX22 TORO last night. Price was right so why not.
Cleaned it last last and put a few drops of oil before I took it out today.
Well, think I might have a lemon. There's about 8 various TX22a in my group of buddies ans only one has a lemon while all the others run perfect.

FTF and stove pipes with 2 different ammo brands. The 22 round mag was worse than 16 rounder.

I will clean again, polish ramp and bit, and pull mags apart and try it again.

I would try CCI higher quality higher velocity ammo. Stingers etc. See if the higher velocity will do the trick. Might be if it is new it just needs to break in a bit. However I have two TX22 TOROs and they have both been flawless. I do run both exclusively suppressed however, which adds backpressure, which can help reliable feeding.

I would also oil the hell out of it- doesnt hurt to get her good an lubed, to see if that will help things.

Also maybe try half loading the mags for a bit, to see if that helps. Sometimes having less upward pressure on the slide helps . . .

I only took 40 gr mini mags but buddy had some golden bullets.
Started out just the 22 round mag but the 16 developed issues. Put it down and ran my Mark 3 a bit then went back to it and last 2 to 3 16 rounders went fine.
I loaded partials as well and still had failures. Buddy had a tx22 mag with him so zi gave it a go.and still had a failure.
Hoping just breaking in and it will get better.
I tend to like to run my 22lrs a bit wet so I will give it a cleaning with less oil and see how it goes.

Clean your magazines. I had a rough time with mine until I found a video that pointed out the problem.
The other problem I had was that it would keyhole Federal Automatch, but was accurate and reliable with any plated bullet.
That problem went away after a few thousand rounds; now it eats everything and is satisfyingly accurate.

Mine runs Golden Bullets like it was designed for them.

Spray the inside of the mag bodies with some silicone spray. And Golden bullets (Remington) are normally a pain the rectum and dirty, but cheap.

I had that problem FTF and stove pipe, used CCi mini mags 40grain.. I watch the video too , took apart my mag and used a nylon brush and scrubbed it out, sprayed some one shot dry lube and never had a problem after

Give its a few days before sending it out to Taurus.
Clean and Lube the barrel, slides, retractor and other moving parts real well. Silicone lube the magazine.
Once you get it firing correctly, keep using that same ammo till youre confident everything is running fine before you switch to another one.
I have an old TX-22 and the Gen 2. Both are incredibly reliable. I use Federal Automatch. Very-very consistent!

FWIW, I've got a tx22 toro and it's a winner. FTF happens more often with a compensator, but it's generally pretty reliable. I know that doesn't help you.. but from my experience it's a good platform.

I ended up buying a nice used dremel tool and polished up the ramp with some Mother's polish. Then I cleaned the 16 round mag and swabbed it with some silicone spray. I left the 22 rounder along for the time being.

Tonight I ran about 200 rounds through it with 1 failure and that was with some very low end ammo. Didn't matter which mag I used so Im guessing the polishing helped.

I ran CCI STD VEL and mini mags, Federal American Eagle, some cheap Win, and some Aguila. Failure was with the Win.

Congrats and enjoy.
On a different part of the TX-22:
If anyone has a bulletin or update especially in the old 16 round magazines, one of mine is worn. Let us know.
Well its plastic and still flimsy in my opinion. Using 9 magazines, I probably fired over 12,000 rounds. So I'm not sure if that's a normal wear.
Thanks

Nice- glad it sounds like you may have gotten it sorted out!! I shoot a lot of 22 suppressed, and I always have to remind myself that it is 22 rimfire, there are always going to be failures. Yours sounded like an equipment issue however, glad the polishing sorted you out!

I bought some Aguila 22 ammo for a very good price- well figured out why it was so cheap- it wouldnt cycle well in any of my 22s! I told a buddy, and he was like OH I bought some of that and had the same issues. So I have moved to pretty much only shooting CCI Standard velocity or higher. A few cents a round more, but worth it to have good reliable 22 ammo. Also it is WAY cleaner shooting, so that pays for itself in keeping the gun clean and when it comes time to clean up the gun, which I admit I am terrible about doing lol!

Pay no mind to the peasants... some of us got it!

BTW- my G44 (un-modded and straight from the box) got me more than half way through a wood match at Clark Riles against some codgers and their spendy .22 race guns.

;)

Haha yeah they like their MKs fo sure. 🤣
