First, I am not a fan of Taurus...
However, I have a TX-22 which is pretty marvelous, and American Made.

Now, they've released the center-fire version in 9mm, the TX-9. And although I know nothing more, apparently it is American made also. Don't know who
Taurus has contracted with to make these domestic versions for them.

I will wait to hopefully read some legitimate reviews on this new pistol. Don't expect I'll go buy one, but I'd still like to know.:D

.

Idk…

I didn't think I was a Taurus fan but now that I have the air weight 856 6x .38sp snub and the PT92 AFO-D, I gotta say I really like them both and haven't had any issues with either of them after quite a few rounds.

Yes, my Beretta 92 is nicer but double the cost and not twice as good.

I had always heard bad things about them and I only have 2 that are both pre-owned so maybe I just got lucky.

The TX-9 parts are made in the motherland (Brazil) and then shipped to the US for final assembly etc. At least according to what one youtuber said during his review of the pistols (he shot all 3 sizes).

If I was looking (I'm not) at getting back into the striker fired game with a modular chassis, I'd skip the TX-9 and roll the dice an the Ruger RXM.
Again, I have no plans on buying the Taurus. And... I own the Ruger RXM and it is superb! I was also not in the market for plastic and/or striker fired, but I won this RXM in a raffle. :D

What would be the compelling reason to buy one of these over the other similar guns already out there?

The Grand power q1 striker fired will outshoot almost any gun I have, including all steel competition guns. The non optic ready model costs $350. Rotating barrel delayed blowback. Smoothest, lowest recoiling 9mm handgun I've shot. Very simple design.

I agree tx-22 is a great gun.

Skip to 2:50 mark to see recoil of q1:
