So i was talking to some guy at a gun shop and he said even if i installed a VQ trigger kit i would have to take it in to get it "Tuned" (something like that, that i cant just install it and have it work at its peak)
He recommended that i just do trigger work to get it to where i want 2lbs.

What is your advice on trigger work($85) vs installing a VQ kit ($100-120)

22/45 stock with mkii bushing.

If you want a really sweet trigger, do both. A good gun smith can fine tune a custom trigger kit. Check out Rich's Gun Shop in Donald which is just down the road from you. He did a great job on the VQ trigger kit for my son's 10/22.

I cant remember the name offhand but I sent a couple of my 10-22 triggers off to a guy in Florida and the stock triggers came back at 2 1/2 lbs. I'd expect even better results starting with an aftermarket trigger.
