Nah..I'm not gonna edit myself. And you sort of prevented that anyhow by quoting my post. So what's the point. PM7 was disrespectful to me. That's how I respond.

And you...same deal..and leave my wife out of it.

The American Sense of Entitlement knows no bounds while driving!
There's truth in that. Some years ago I spent a little time in Taiwan for work. I was in a big industrial city, thousands of motorcycles on the roads, lots of trucks, taxis, some cars, real busy place.

I didn't drive there of course, but what I really noticed was a general lack of angry. Traffic seemed a bit crazy, cars and motorcycles dodging in and out, cutting each other off here and there. Taxis drove tapping on their horns as they do, but otherwise I didn't notice any angry horns, yelling, hand gestures, etc.. people seemed pretty mellow. I didn't see anyone getting worked up or angry at other drivers.

When I got home, on the way home from the airport, I was telling my wife about it and how American drivers by comparison seem particularly entitled. "We" tend to have the attitude of "How DARE you inconvenience ME!"

Literally minutes later, we merged onto I5 south, Sunday morning, light traffic, doing the speed limit, merged properly. Some guy in a convertible was zipping along maybe 75 or 80mph a couple hundred yards back, and we inconvenienced him ever so slightly in that he had to drift over into the fast lane as he went on by us. As he did, he hit his horn and flipped us off. How DARE we inconvenience HIM?!

We weren't even offended, it was so comical. We both started laughing. Yep, lots of entitled jerks out there. Just avoid them and try to not be one. :)

All other drama aside, I've learned something from this thread, and one of the big things I learned is the importance of fully understanding the issue even if I have to go back and reread previous posts.

My biggest misunderstanding was the difference between four-way stops and two-way stops, and how the rules are different. I also misunderstood the original post to be about a four-way instead of a two-way.

Arakboss's link in post no.18 strongly indicates that the first vehicle at a four-way stop does indeed have the right-of-way, but that's not the case at a two-way stop. This is not what I thought the issue was at first. Good info, and that makes more sense to me now.

Many of us have been driving for so long that we may have forgotten a thing or two, and some never learned in the first place. :)

I have to wonder if the reason there was no anger showing, as you indicated, was because everyone was doing the best they could to get where they needed to? Maybe they all take driving as a serious business? MY problem is the people that drive like they are the only ones on the road. And don't seem to be smart enough to watch what's going on around them? OR, they believe they should be able to drive any way they feel like...even if it backs up traffic and causes accidents (due to not following basic rules of the road)

What I've learned in this thread is everyone is blaming everyone else rather than keeping their nose in their business which should be a full time job by the way. Let others do as they do and drive and act like gentle people. Water off a Ducks back.

ROAD TRIP!!!

Idiots have been driving like idiots for a long time. It will only get worse. Society is degenerating at a high rate of speed IMO. I don't mean to sound like I'm perfect because I'm not. I had road rage in 2023 and it wasn't pretty. Lost money, went to jail, almost died.

My experience made it easier for me to remain calm now days. I have a valid license again, I pay $280 a month for car insurance, and I have a new truck again. That evil is still in me but I now chose not to be the old me. I still get the adrenaline rush, that rage to put the idiot driver in their place……. But I was that idiot once, people make mistakes, crap happens, and with the way things are now days, you might get shot while raging or getting even. Even if you get your revenge, you might sit in jail, pending a manslaughter charge like I almost did. All I can say is that the devil got a hold of me but Jesus saved me.

I believe the OP was in the right and that the other guy was a moron. You can either fight it like I did and pay a heavy price, or just leave it to god to do something about it….. or as I say, karma is a bit*h. Maybe I wasn't paying much attention growing up but now days it's amazing how much of the general public is so brain dead. I have my reasons as to why but I digress.

Be aware and defensive, do not flip anyone off or behave in an aggressive manor because you will only fuel their fire. When we see idiots driving like fluoride heads, we do not have enough info to know what is going on, so leave it to god to sort it out. Give yourself extra time and don't rush. I struggle to do good everyday but I try, sometimes fail, but never give up.

I owe some people in my county an apology. I can never say enough "I am sorry" for hurting a family member in that accident, I can never take away the fear I put into the witnesses when I turned my new truck into a 5K missile, chasing the idiot that messed with me.

Even when you're 100% right and were disrespected on the road, you do not want to go through the BS I went through….. you don't know me but trust me, you might kill an innocent human. Now, if you are a victim of hit and run, chase them and triple tap them lol jk don't do that either.

Let us be a good example because people notice it when you're a good driver. I have PTSD, depression, and anxiety, so if I can try to do better, you can too.

God bless.
