For the most part if someone comes up behind me on a single lane highway at a decent rate I go out of my way to let them pass. If they are traveling at a faster speed than I am I have absolutely no problem letting them pass me.

There are always aholes on the road though. Here in Central Oregon we call them Californians!
I've noticed that when I get east of Hwy 97 drivers and people in general are more easy going, and polite.

Roundabouts are a product of the auto insurance industry.
Change my mind.
Maybe now. I think they're man's pathetic attempts to reduce drivers' Darwinist tendencies.
The first one I encountered was in Massachusetts in the early '70s. Too many drunks ran the stop signs. The brick center for the roundabout was regularly smashed.

DWA. Here in Beaverton / Hillsboro, the worse side of it is DWI (Driving While Indian, aka Hindi). And they LOVE their BMWs.

I'm the same way. If someone behind me wants to go faster than I do, I make every reasonable effort to let them pass. I'd much rather have them in front of me and on their way, than behind me pushing.

Stop it, you're making me moist
It's a 2006 hybrid corolla. The alternator runs the electric gizmos and ICE engine makes the wheels turn

There was a guy on hwy 99 near rickreal that was following me so close, at night, I had no idea he was there until I saw my service truck's shadow on the trees as we went around the corner. Eventually he went around but not until staying like that for a solid 20 minutes. Some people's kids, I swear.

Probably someone in a hurry to get to late night shift or booty call or some such.

I despise the people that want to ride on my bumper but don't have the balls to pass! I saw a good bumper sticker once... something like "If you don't have the balls to pass BACK OFF!"

I've never understood the fluctuating of speed on an open highway. Same car will pass me, then be passed by me, over and over again, while I maintain relatively consistent speed. :s0092:

Saw an applicable bumper sticker that said, "Cruise Control. Look into it." :D

On hwy 99 between Monmouth and Rickreall, no one dares go 55 apparently  45-50 is the norm, even without the roundabout under construction at Orrs Corner.
I got pulled over on that section of road doing 70 in 55. When asked why I was in such a hurry said I just wasn't paying attention to my speed while just enjoying the drive to the Rickerall Gun Show where I was a vendor. He didn't ask about guns in the truck and I didn't volunteer that information. He let me go with a warning.

I call 'em "The Regulators". the people that believe it's their lot in life to make sure no one goes 1 MPH over the, NEW speed limit, signs. They'll have five, or so, cars behind them and no one in front of them for a block or four. Potland is rife with them!

I drive as I want. Also driving well over 40 years.

What are these weird things, what did you call them traffic laws, and courtesy?

I guess when I see some follow that stuff It will make sense. Taint seen it yet.
