Laws between states are not even the same .
In Oregon you can make a u- turn only if a sign is posted that it is allowed.
In California, you can make a u-turn at an intersection unless there is a sign that says you are not allowed .

When I see people break this law in Oregon I just assume " Californian"
WA is the same - U turns at intersections unless otherwise posted.

Well I have learned a lot in 6 pages here.

I just always thought the person who waved the biggest gun got the right of way and if you didn't have one to wave you sit there until all other traffic has cleared.

I may have to do some fact checking and change my driving habits.

On rural roads, the speed at which the locals drive is inversely proportional to the straightness of the road.

I learned that back when I drove Powers Highway on a regular basis.

Creswell has the goofyst 4 way stop. If you approach it from the east you can turn left, right or go straight without stopping. If you approach it from the west or south you have to stop just like a regular 4 way except for the ones from the East that don't have to stop. Those of us from Creswell know this but those from out of town get all yes, no, maybe bubblegumed up. Honking the horn and throwing you hands up in the air just confuses them even more. And for even more fun a train runs thru there randomly.

I know that stop. I don't like it.

The " free left " in Nehalem, on 101 northbound.

I love that little town.

What about approach from North? Same as West/South, stop?

Oh, yes recently on the road to Cannon Beach, we took the 47 route from McMinnville through Yamhill, Gaston, etc.. noticed quite a few roundabouts  my bet is that within 10 years, ODOT is going to have a bug up their rectums from insurance to put big roundabouts at each major point of intersections, particularly on the 26 from I-5 all the way to Vernonia

Stepsister in Colorado says they're starting to tear out roundabouts placed just a few years ago: accidents skyrocketed.

everyone really should get a dash cam,, they are cheap and easy to install
I've said this before, 50% of drivers should get them, the top 50% of drivers. Otherwise you are just recording evidence against yourself. Unfortunately, 93% of drivers think they are better than average.
Roundabouts are a product of the auto insurance industry.
Change my mind
They are a product of traffic engineers that purely look at the statistic that they reduce serious injury crashes from. 50% to 75%. But they can cause other problems, especially for trucks (and clueless drivers). Spen six weeks driving in Scotland in the past year...they work fine there, but we are not them.
