It's to do with pistol braces. Which have been hugely popular.

Folks would definitely buy this over the extremely expensive Q Fix.

300 blackout is designed around shorter barrels, having to have a 16" barrel because of stupid laws for a bolt gun chambered in one is a waste.

Make a bolt action pistol with a 8" barrel in 300 black and a foldable brace, you have a compact suppressable platform that can be very useful.

If Ruger comes out with one at 300-400 I'd buy it.

Agreed they are definitely designed for pistol braces. My guess is the reason they don't come with them is that unlike the AR there is no buffer tube sticking out and thus the legality of the brace on a factory product is somewhat deeper into the gray area.

:rolleyes:Appears to be another wonderous product designed by committee ….
…. like "new" Coke, the inflatable anchor, the shake-weighty, and the impact activated parachute.

Is there a brace currently on the market that would fit?

Looks like an AR end cap to me. Likely any AR based buffer would work.
