Taurus 709, 2nd report

I intended to shoot at the Defensive Handgun class at ARPC today. Went out early with a buddy so he could shoot his new 1911. I'd bought a box of Win. 100 ct bulk FMJ ammo at Walmart. The 709 would FTE with each magazine, sometimes several times. Thought I was holding it too loosely, no change. Limp-wristed it, no different.

Shot up the box with continuing FTEs then put two mags of Rem/UMC megapack FMJ through it with no problems.

Hmmm, a very picky Brazilian! No more Winchester for it!

The only FTE I've had was because of intentional limp-wristing. Good thing you found some ammo your 709 likes!

My 709 ate a whole box of WWB with no trouble whatsoever.

+1 for sending it back. I've put about 300 rounds down range with my 709 and aside from a FTE in the first couple of mags there's been no issue with White Box or PMC. Only issue I had was that it was shooting low and left from the factory so had to adjust the sights.
