A pink pencil eraser with automotive valve lapping compound inbedded in it mounted in a dremel tool and used to jewel the bolts would be an option. You can also do it with a small diameter steel wire brush also in a Dremel run at a medium speed.
 
Mother's Polish and 0000 steel wool will do wonders . You can use polish on many metals and use cotton cloth and polish for a final buff . A little goes a long way . Comes in a 5 ounce & 10 ounce tub . Bimart has 10 ounce for like $12 . I buy the 10 ounce and polish aluminum , brass , bronze , copper , stainless , gold , silver and even glass , mirrors ..... Good times . :)
