After trying to deceive voters by telling lies about "nobody is threatening to take your guns" and other nonsense, he blurts out his real beliefs just after 6:45 in this video of the VP debate question on guns:

The quote also appears in this article:

For those who were not aware of how he got his nickname, here is the short story on it:

Tim Walz has said many stupid and untrue things, but THAT has to be the biggest lie among them. "Sometimes, it is just the gun."
I challenge him to find a single example of a gun, acting on its' own volition, killing or injuring a single person.

I'm mostly teasing you on a technicality and obviously agree with you.

BUT

There have been instances of some shotguns and guns like the SKS that have a floating firing pin (which you can buy a springed replacement) that have been leaned up against something and fallen over causing the gun to fire. Idk if that counts but is certainly doesn't pertain lol.

Maybe, but somebody loaded it and set it against the tree. So, that would come under negligent discharge, unsafe gun handling. NOT "just the gun".

Thats the exact comment I was gonna make.

Yeah, and we're lucky we still have @sobo around... you know considering all the sigs he's got that like to walk around killing people... :s0140:

If it's the guns, then it's also the scalpels, the spoons, the needles, the processed sugar, the trans fats, the coffee table corner, the rock, the hammer, the cigarette, the knife, the rat poison or any other inanimate object that has killed someone. The last time my bathroom sink and shower curtain tried to kill me it was scary. Those bastards are pretty sneaky.

Sometimes it is just the criminal....
At least when a firearm is used in a crime.

In any event...
A criminal uses a firearm in commission of a crime...
Or...someone misuses a firearm and harms others...
Both are bad...and should not happen.

However...
Why should millions of firearm owners who harm no one...or commit no crimes...
Be held accountable for the actions of others...?

Let alone baseball bats , ladders , swimming pools , automobiles , doctors , ice , snow , trees , ATVs , hiking trails , steps , lawnmowers , saws , glass .... you name it . No banning of them . But ya let's go after a 2nd amendment right to fix a human violence problem ..... symptom instead of root cause .
