I do better in the fall. Stay by water and berries in the fall.
 
anywhere in sw is good. Try around Elkton Mapleton and Tiller. Find large grassy slopes in the sunshine. Scout for sign and set down and wait use patience and you should be able to get a bear in a few days. I believe the largest density is in Lobster Creek drainaige. I have hunted in there and believe Stevie Wonder could kill a bear there. Find a used trail coming down abank and wait on it. My biologist friend says they have at least 2.6 bears per square mile in that drainage. Looking around I would believe it.
 
Thanks guys, I've hooked up with an old buddy who has relatives near Myrtle Point/Coquille, which is where we'll likely go.
