Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
Well.... That's a private matter. Somewhat like asking a lady the number of times she's been laid.
With that being said, they eat fresh green grass in the spring.
I do better in the fall. Stay by water and berries in the fall.
just west of you is great country, clear cuts that are 3 or 4 years old, smith river, areas that have early grass sprouting will be hot spots.
good luck
anywhere in sw is good. Try around Elkton Mapleton and Tiller. Find large grassy slopes in the sunshine. Scout for sign and set down and wait use patience and you should be able to get a bear in a few days. I believe the largest density is in Lobster Creek drainaige. I have hunted in there and believe Stevie Wonder could kill a bear there. Find a used trail coming down abank and wait on it. My biologist friend says they have at least 2.6 bears per square mile in that drainage. Looking around I would believe it.
