And tax stamps for SBR's are even cheaper! I can't think of a reason to P&W in Oregon at this timeNew Barrels are inexpensive.
I did one for grins and giggles. Took a 13.9" out to 16.2" and it's pretty nice to not deal with paperwork. The novelty wore off once I checked that box, though. And tax stamps for SBR's are even cheaper! I can't think of a reason to P&W in Oregon at this time![]()
It's going to depend upon two things- what length barrel you are trying to pin/weld to get to 16", and which suppressor you plan on buying down the road. Honestly, with how good braces are, none of my many short ARs are pinned/welded or SBRs- I would recommend just getting one of the many braces out there, and then DONT pin and weld, which would allow you to figure out ahead of time which can you are going to get, and wont pigeonhole you into one brand/type of can. Suppressor tech has EXPLODED recently, so the market is constantly changing with GREAT new cans being introduced every day. Keep it non pinned/welded for now, which allows for flexibility down the road of switching out muzzle devices. Then once you get your can, you can pin/weld if you like, or just keep it pistol format with brace. Or SBR down the road . . .What is the best adapter for a pin a weld rifle? Trying to get a suppressor, what are your recommendations?
