Started seeing more silencers around 2010 back when AAC, KAC and Surefire were the only premium suppressor MFGs. Then when the CLEO sign off was removed as a requirement for approval on the Form 4 it exploded, which was around... I think 2016 or so. That was a big problem for anti gun cities and was effective in curbing people being able to get silencers. People had to form trusts to get around it at the time. Then you had more suppressor companies come about adding more diversity and technology in the market. Now we have a 2nd wave of new owners since they removed the $200 fee from the process.

The thing that inhibits their growth is price and paperwork. I've bought 4x more suppressors than guns in the last 4 years.
