Are you referring to the "Case" or to the "jacket" on the bullet?

I wouldn't worry too much about either if you're not planning on shooting hundreds and thousands of rounds. The Steel Cases are difficult to reload because of the different 'spring-back' rate thus the possible need for a custom die. Steel jacketed bullets are usually coated with a gilding metal that reduces the tendency to the tendency for steel to gall steel. The jacket is still thin enough to be deformed and engage the rifling but it's a little tougher than standard brass/copper jackets.

Steel jackets were pretty much standard during the non-ferrous metal shortages of the WW-II era. Lots of rifles shot the steel jacketed bullets without issue. Given the choice I would probably not but if that's what I had, I would go ahead. Just keep the bore clean and do so frequently.
