Springfield/Savage Model 947 .410 Shotgun
This very nice Springfield/Savage Model 947 .410 shotgun was branded for the Coast To Coast hardware store chain as a Model 946. The break-open action is released via a side mounted lever and auto-ejects the spent round. Imprinted on the receiver is: Coast To Coast Stores, Model 946. On the barrel is: Selected Forged Steel, Proof Tested .410 gauge, 3 Inch Chamber. There is also "39S" in a circle. There is no serial number. It is 41 ½" over all with a 26" full choke barrel. The receiver shows the heat-swirls of "case hardening" and the gun is in superb condition. It has not seen much use.
