Made dis for fun.
Good test of swing away binding attachment on the Singer 31-20, also good test of the DB-1-F2 leather cutting needles to get through the relatively sturdy pockets.

Mesh is TP21 in green tint Ranger Green from Ahh Biz, Camo Green binding tape and webbing from Jontay. Used Duraflex's Tactik buckle for middle, and MOLLE repair side release buckles from ITW-Nexus. Obviously, LBV pockets and shoulder pads. DSCN7656.JPG DSCN7657.JPG

I like split rigs for going prone, open them up and splay them out let's you get nice and low, but not a big fan of Duraflex's Tactik buckle, they can get debris in them and need to be cleaned out before snapping back together.

that they can.

Could be worse. Could be zipper :s0140: that said; yeah I can see your perspective. Its similar to rejecting velcro closures on anything.

Been a while. Thought I should pull the rig out of storage and load it up and set it up with my old CamelBak Ambush hydro pack. Featuring my Midlength A2 carbine with A2 stock and Eagle Industries butt pouch. Clicky to embiggen :)

CamelBak straps routed through LBV shoulder pads' webbing slots and strap retainers. Did remove sternum strap from hydro pack to make it easier to drop pack off the rig if needed.

KISS, basic setup. Mags, water and first aid. Should be good for short patrols or camp defense with resupply nearby.. or simple range day in the woods.

6 mags in rig, 2 on carbine.

Still using what I used as a teenager.

My pack is the same one I used overseas over 50 years ago.

I still have my basic (80's vintage) issued TA50 gear (sans the useless shelter-half), my full (80's vintage) LBE battle-rattle rig, an ACH helmet (same shape, but a bit lighter & more comfy than the PASGT K-pot I used while in) and an updated MICH helmet.

I have never really used any of it since I ETS'd over 30yrs ago.... dunno why I bother to keep it. It's kinda weird, but it'd feel like I was throwing out a newborn baby, or something.... so I don't do it.
