Edit so the story above was found to be a hoax;

AI, robots, start with sending robots and AI systems to construct human-safe facilities and Terraform planets, etc
Send frozen human sperm and eggs, pregnancy robots, teaching robots, etc, gotta have enough genetic diversity...

Long term plans but significant savings on transporting human-making materials in protected cryo storage with robots, versus generational ships subjecting human bodies to lack of gravity, increased radiation, accidents.

All kinda adds up to realization of an interstellar civilization? "Seed the colonies" raise first generations with AI/extreme long distance stuff, then let humans do whatever they do eventually?

I believe Snopes debunked the pregnancy robot thing already, which is too bad because I wanted a hot robot to carry my sperm and distribute it galactically amongst other hot, humanoid alien robots.

So anyways, despite the pregnancy robot being a hoax currently, the fact still remains...it would still be cheaper to develop the ability to grow human embryos artificially, after sending the frozen sperm and eggs into space and onto whatever colony structures there would be, that were built by robots and maintained by robots. Seeding the new eventual colonies with literal seeds from Earth crops for cultivation; using hydroponics and the like... Perhaps using scientific robots to explore potential host planets in the habitable zones of extrasolar star systems... But also seeing if there already existed life out there.

Colonies would have to stay within the Solar System, like Mars, possibly Europa, Jupiter/Saturn rings and Asteroid belt mining; at least for the first few generations... And then developing truly interstellar robotic ships that can carry the same items (seeds) to other systems?

Did you bump your head? Or did you partake in the devils lettuce?

No and no :s0140: just some ... Philosophical discussions with a friend that got me thinking.

I mean for real. Who's gonna care if a robot ship with frozen sperm and eggs gets hit by a comet? Versus a ship full of humans hoping to be the first colonists?

Not a fan of robots...nor one of robots raising human children.
Yet here we are....with a whole lot of people being raised by tablets and I phones.

We are doomed to destruction.

Or... We are doomed to create a whole new religion/creation myth elsewhere?

Just thinking aloud here . If the end result is that humans have colonized space with the help of AI and robots, while the Earthbound population devolved into a 10th century way of living thanks to a certain religion and to the violence of countries .....

Edit. What if it happened before? What if this instance of the Earth, wasn't the first time that life and humanity evolved/developed/were created?

Its schrooms.....gotta be schrooms!

I would rather be earth bound with a 10th century way of living /religion and violence than...
Have any Damn thing to do with AI / robots...
AI / robots stifle creativity and all that is human....to say the very least...don't want any damn thing to do with 'em....
Yes I said that twice...on purpose.

As far as has this happened before....sure why not... ?
I ain't so arrogant to think that humans are unique or original.

Will there be dog robots too? I'd hate to have my robot raised sperm get stuck with some other bubblegum robot raised sperm and not have his robot raised dog to get away from the stupid robot raised bubblegums.

I cannot remember who exactly was it that said this...

The discovery that humans are alone in the universe, would be just as significant as discovering that we are not alone in the universe (Fermi Paradox condensed)

You'd have to have an interstellar Noah's ark or some sort of thing that would bring animal life out there too, but this is why I'm saying you'd need to cultivate/Terraform the host planets or moons or whatever in order to make things suitable for life in general. Animals, livestock and pollinating insects in particular. This would also be a good experiment/test to see suitability of raising animals without parental animals. But it seems humans have been able to breed and hand raise orphaned animals?

This would be a monumental challenge though. Especially with animals that depends on genetic memory and magnetic fields
