Then to the West, in West Virginia, they proposed a bill which takes advantage of a little-known loophole in 18 USC 922(o) , Hughes Amendment, in which a State could transfer (post sample?) machine guns to qualified citizens and those citizens could possess them. If there's a thread on this, already, I haven't seen.

It's not a "loophole", it basically says the Hughes NFA restrictions don't apply for transfers TO or BY Fed, State or political sub-divisions.....

You mean "TO". I posted a new thread on this. I used the term because that is what the anti2As will call it, and because it will go through Courts predictably. The general understanding is that the exception is for LE/Military and corporations trying to get mil contracts. Maybe this is the justification used by PMC companies like Blackwater

Trump enjoys tooting his own horn, that's who he is. I was severely disappointed in how the D's showed their true colors. Little to no respect for victims, due to their political stance. Even less love for the country they "represent". Love the country you are in or go where you do love.

DOH!

I corrected the syntax of that post.

Derpa, derpa, derp!

Trump was once a card-carrying Democrat (2001-2009), and even said in his book (The America We Deserve, while running for the Reform party) that he supported a federal assault weapons ban and longer waiting periods. He changed his tone only after going for political office as a Republican. I'm not sure where he really stands on 2A issues as I can hardly believe anything that comes out of his big orange head. :/
Trump was born into a protect class and with the perspective of the ultra wealthy. Any transformation is incredible. He is surrounded by paid men with guns probably for the majority of his life.

He is not the best 2A ally but he is the best one we got so far. He's not the best on a lot of things but better than the alternative. My guns have lost so much of their monetary value because Trump is in office. On the federal level no one is scared of losing access to firearms.

Republicans can be as scummy as the rest and scared 😱 of their own shadow at times. Unfortunately Trump is the only standing up and calling out opposition who happen to be rabid anti-gunners.

I don't pay attention to those state of the union messages. They are akin to campaign messaging.

One of our Wash. state senators, the esteemed Patty Murray boycotted the address. Which is no different from many of Trump's petty, personally retaliatory acts.

Re. Patty Murray, she brings out the worst in me. She's lived off the public trough all her life, been Wash. senator since 1993 which in Wash. means she has got a sinecure position for life if she wants it and will probably never give it up just on principle if nothing else.

I perceive something more like ultra petty, insecure new money trash.

He still behaves like ultra petty, insecure new money trash. His aesthetic taste, if one could call it taste, says it all.

Doesn't change anything I am crediting him for. Of course there are things he could easily do better but the left won't give him any credit, while you speak on pettiness.

I am setup now in large part due to conditions set in Trumps 1st term. I was not originally a supporter but the far left and a dose of reality brought me here.
