I am not sure what you mean by your recommendation or why you are recommending it?
The dash number follows the model number. For example 686-6 or 686-3, 686-4, etc. It's a classifier number that identifies the "iteration" in a model's history. When there are significant design changes, S&W bumps the iteration number. It's helpful for identifying parts, and if you wish to approximate when the firearm was manufactured, etc.

They are both -6's. I hope that helps.

times are certainly tough for many...

I quite trying to sell firearms, decided to keep them for when I might end up bartering for necessities...
I get that. Right now I'm feeling a necessity to get a browning and 7 mm PRC. That's what I'm basically wanting to use. Proceeds from these revolvers for.
