I know quite a few guys out there carry a J frame or similar for pocket or summer carry.

I was wondering what round you carry in your J frame or similar .38 with a 2" barrel ?

158 gr lead ?

125 or 110 JHP ?

+P or not ?

I think I have federal hydra shok loaded right now. I also have some of the hornady critical defense laying around. Neither are plus p but that is because my smith is a little older and not recommended for the extra pressure. I would probably choose the plus p round though to make up for the lesser ballistic capability compared to other popular carry calibers like 9mm or .40sw.

It is usually difficult to locate. The good news is that it is available in 50 round boxes for $20-$25 per box.
