I know quite a few guys out there carry a J frame or similar for pocket or summer carry.

I was wondering what round you carry in your J frame or similar .38 with a 2" barrel ?

    158 gr lead ?

    125 or 110 JHP ?

    +P or not ?

Corbon Glaser Silver for home defense load. For carry I like what I have read about the Hornady Critical Defense loads and I use them in .380 ACP.

I think I have federal hydra shok loaded right now. I also have some of the hornady critical defense laying around. Neither are plus p but that is because my smith is a little older and not recommended for the extra pressure. I would probably choose the plus p round though to make up for the lesser ballistic capability compared to other popular carry calibers like 9mm or .40sw.

Federal Nyclad--non +P if you've got an airweight.

Another fan of the Gold Dot 135 +p.

It is usually difficult to locate. The good news is that it is available in 50 round boxes for $20-$25 per box.

It was recently available at ammo to go.

They came with another gun I picked up years ago. I've thought about picking up something with a little more punch. Maybe one day, something in +p.
