I have never had a slam fire with my Chinese SKS, but I was leery of the possibility. So I sent my bolt and bolt carrier off to Murray's in Texas to have the firing pin replaced and the carrier machined. I went for sending it to them rather than just replacing the firing pin with a spring model myself. They machine the carrier, stone the bolt face and install the new firing pin with spring.

The cost was sixty dollars including return postage. Total cost including postage to get it there was around $65. I have no affiliation with Murray's, but I just wanted to put this out there for our SKS owners. I went with the 2013 version of the fix.

I was quoted a three week turnaround, but got it back in about ten days. :s0155:
