Ok I'm new, I admit it, and I did do a search here but apparently don't even know enough to get a decent response.

What does single stack and double stack mean??

I'm assuming (gee, that's never gotten me into any trouble) it has to do with handguns. After that I'm really not entirely sure.

in the picture above the mags on the right are double stack, the other one is single stack.

it refers to the magazine design. single stacks are narrower but fit less rounds. double stack are wider but can accommodate more rounds.
 
There are things called ammo clips also.

This information I gave was from training in the US ARMY and it was general understood to differentiate between and M14 magazine and an M1 carbine ammo clip.

I guess your source has morphed since I was in.
