Their customer support phone hold times are ridiculous. On my 3rd day and 7th hour of being on hold trying to get through. No option for a call back. You have to press 2 every three minutes or you get disconnected. Maddening.

I have purchased a couple of things through SS but had the same kind of issues with them.

I have used Capitol Armory for 10 years and just like the way they do business. Sent them my pics, prints, trust copy etc and they do all the paperwork. They reply in a timely manner and send it off to the ATF. They do have a plan that sends it to your door after approval too.

UPDATE-- Maybe the best part is that in 10 years they've never asked me to update my picture!!

What are you calling to find out about? Depending upon what the question/issue is might have some insight, as I have ordered several from them, and has gone smoothly.

I just ordered a SilencerCo Velos 762 due to their 'free $200 tax stamp" promo going right now. Ordered it Thursday 7/17, and got notice yesterday that ATF had already approved the Form 3 to transfer, and they had already shipped out the suppressor Monday 7/21, to my SS dealer here in Salem!

I got an email saying I was missing transfer information. When I click the "Submit Now" button it takes me to my registration that says 100% complete. Currently on my eighth hour (over 3 days) on hold for customer service.

A follow up on my frustrations with SS ... If you press 1 for new sales, boy you get someone instantly (both times I tried). I did not realize when calling customer service that there was a callback option by pressing 3 after you are on hold for three minutes. Once I figured that out (early the 3rd day) I got a callback late the same day.

I started the process for my first time purchase with them on July 18th. Finalized everything for ATF submission on the 30th. Got approved with a traditional gun trust in 48 hours! and have my first can in my grubby hands this afternoon. My FFL rubbed me the wrong way on the final steps, but all-in-all it was an amazingly fast process despite frustrations with customer service.

I had also ordered a can with Silencer Central I think on the 16th. The odd thing was my ATF approvals for both silencers came in literally within seconds of each other. Different vendors, different processes. Weird.

I decided I didn't want to play Washington State bingo and ordered a third can, this time with Silencer Central. Silencer Shop had the same can for $100 more, but Silencer Central was paying the tax stamp. Having been set up with Silencer Central, what took a couple weeks with the first can took 30 minutes with the second. I imagine my ATF approval will come quicker than the 7 day waiting for local LE.

I have not purchased with Capitol Armory, but they and Silencer Shop have a deal where you can pay up front and they will hold your can until Jan 1st (zero tax day) before doing the processing. So, I went for can #4 with Silencer Shop on a .22 can. I can't bear paying for a $200 stamp on a $300 can. We'll see how that goes.

For the record, I have not received my first can from Silencer Central, but ship to home appears to be the next step.

For laughs, here are the cans I ordered:
  • Banish 223 (Silencer Central)
  • Rugged Radiant 762 (Silencer Shop) A little regretful on this one. ~$1350 after sales tax and stamp. QD only and ~$100 a pop for connectors. I've since gone to the direct thread camp, but now I'm committed on this one. I'll make it work for most of my rifles.
  • Silencerco Omega 300 DTM (Silencer Central)
  • Silencerco 22 Sparrow on the pay now, $zero stamp later
And... all of these are on a traditional Gun Trust set up for free by Silencer Central.

Nice!!! Once they start arriving you just cant get enough! Picked up my tenth can yesterday- SilencerCo Velos 762, and approval took almost exactly 24 hours!

When did you buy your SilencerCos? Cause they just announced yesterday an additional $200 rebate, and it is retroactive back to July 4th!! So if you bought them after July 4th, you get an addtional $400!!

Wow! I purchased this morning.
It reads as a "SilencerCo credit" for use with orders from SilencerCo and not a rebate.
Any experience buying directly from SilencerCo? I imagine there is at minimum a transfer fee to an FFL???

One is back ordered, so I may not have a serial number for a while.
Oooh, good point- i think in order to submit you have to have a copy of your filed form 4 too, so depending upon how long it takes to arrive and submit i wonder if the promo will pass. Maybe they will accept past due ones if the delay, which was technically THEIR fault, for not producing more cans!!

Kinda funny math though.

So I get an Omega 300 DT at Silencer Central for $699 and they pay the stamp. I get $200 credit only good at SilencerCo, but have to pay $699 for the same can plus Tax stamp and transfer fee, so I end up paying slightly more for the same can again.

Say I want to use that credit to get a Sparrow 22. SilencerCo is charging $50 more than competitors plus tax stamp and transfer fee. Silencer Shop = $299 buy now wait until zero tax stamp. SilencerCo $350+~$75 transfer+$200 tax tramp - $200 credit = ~$425.

If it was a rebate, or a credit I could use anywhere, or I just happened to have bought multiple SilencerCo cans it might be worth it.

Thanks for the heads up though! I should probably apply for the $200 credit and if something changes between now and Nov. 15th maybe it would make sense to use it.

Seriously, thanks for he heads up. I will apply.

Yeah probably makes more sense to spend it on accessories- like their threaded barrels, ASR mounts etc . . .
