I'm a Sig fan and own several including an XTen and X5 Legion plus a few 365's but I don't have a 45 acp hand gun and have been eyeballing Sigs P220 and then saw the P220 Legion which will probably set me back a few Dollars more but I imagine it will be worth the extra cost. Whom else can relate and give me feedback. Are the P220 and P226 series that much better than the 320 platform?
@metalhead68

If you want, I'll bring mine to the Newberg range sometime for you to try. I have both the stainless 45 fullsize and 10mm SAO.

This isn't a West German but it's an awesome deal for a Legion.

Ask and ye shall receive.
Damn, I wish I had seen this prior to yesterday, I just depleted half of my firearm funds yesterday upon ordering a Garmin Xero C1 Pro. Still after viewing that Youtube video of how to delete the grip safety on a 1911 I may have to reconsider the purchase. Drilling and pinning the main spring housing wouldn't be too difficult to do at work .

The P220's and P226's I own are very reliable and are what drew me into the Sig brand. Unfortunately, they decided to start manufacturing striker fired pistols and now we see the results of that, whether the accusations are true or not is obviously still up for debate. However, the damage is done and it seems some folks are skeptical about the brand in itself. Sad actually because the P Series pistols are very reliable and what helped build the brand.

P220 compact

I didn't know there was a 245 🤔
It is a chopped P220 and kinda went over like a wet fart but it is a cut down P220 and can use full size P220 mags . It is like the P226 and P228/229ta chopped version . I had a few of them and for a 45 acp and the grip does not offer a lot of real estate so never fell in love with them .

Good info, thanks! Would be fun to try - I have the 220 compact and a 220 full size. I can see how the 245 would have flopped

I'll bet that has significant recoil issues and difficult flow ups

When Keith's had P220 Police trade ins for $500 I picked one up, got a 225 as well, both W German.
Been a solid shooter so far.
Unknown round count when it started needing a tap to go into battery when it was cold out.
Replaced the springs and rebuilt the hammer system with the E2 system using a Sig Armorer Superstrut.

Sig has come out with the classic line of the 226 and 229, no rail or tail, a 220 version would be cool.
I have a 226 Legion and wouldn't mind having a 220.

I'll never spend one dime at Kieth's. 18 pages of bad experiences with them here:

Never a dime at Kieth's!

I was always in and out in about a half hour if I decided to buy something.
I haven't been into any gun store in a long time, close as I got was waiting outside of NW Armory in a line to pick up some lowers I bought online right when the outbreak started.

I got mine from Keith's. It has a stainless upper and night sights. Sig will still do a nitrone coating and new night sights. I've been on the fence of adding that for years, but I have mostly black pistols, so it breaks up the heard.

I'm still leaning towards P220 legion but alas I just bought a Garmin Xero pro so I'm down on available funds at the moment

The p220 is, in my opinion, a great gun in 45. For me second only to the 1911 in 45. But in the end I own several 1911's and no 220. I don't think you could go wrong with the 220 though. Cheers.

A short slide for the P220 would be the P245
