DJ Shipley is the son of Navy Seal Don Shipley.

This is a very long interview but it's well worth the time investment and quite the roller coaster ride. DJ details his 17 year career from enlistment into the Seal Teams at 17, through his transition into Seal Team 6 and ultimate exit (medically retired) from the military. He's also honest...painfully honest at times...about his struggles trying to balance/reconcile his work with his family/personal life through drug addiction, affairs, numerous physical injuries and trying to come to terms with giving up the job he loved. It's an amazing look into the job we ask of these people and the physical and emotional toll it takes.
